Description :
Tom Jennings penned these words in 1967 when he was discussing the Holless Allen compound bow: "I am very enthusiastic about this new bow. I feel it is the first really new concept to come into bow design in the past thousand years. With research and development, it should develop into a fine, usable, practical bow." At the time, Tom Jennings was Technical Editor of TAM, The Archer's Magazine. He was publishing the first authoritative technical assessment of the new bow shooting device most archers thought would soon disappear. The year before TAM printed Jennings' review of the compound bow, Tom changed the company name to Jennings Compound Bow and ceased production of recurve bows altogether. Jennings also noted "there was no reason to continue building recurves, the compound bow was the ultimate." These words still resonate today.
